One of the students at Agha Yequtiel School recalls the principal and some school regulations like this:
Haji Eshagh Masjedi, Agha Yequtiel’s maternal nephew, was the executive director and oversaw the construction of the school. Unfortunately, during the building process, he developed an eye disease from working too long with lime.
Agha Yequtiel and his family lived in part of the school yard.
The school had three cellars, but only one was ever in use.
Mr. Nikfahm, who was known as Nikpour, was the deputy headmaster, calligraphy teacher, and Hebrew teacher.
Mr. Harun Cohen, who had traveled from Yazd, also taught Hebrew.
Mr. Taghi Haeri was the headmaster and sixth-grade teacher.
Mr. Arastu Khoobian was the school attendant and was called Arastooki due to his small stature.
School hours were from 8 to 12 in the morning and 14 to 16 in the afternoon.
Between 1946 and 1953, the tuition for the first to fourth grades was 10 rials per month, and for the fifth and sixth grades, 15 rials.
Students coming from poor families received free lunch and their tuition was covered by the Joint Institution or Tehran’s Alliance Institution.
